Charlaine and Danie grew up in the same town. They both moved to London for two years after school but because of the difference in their ages, they never met. After Charlaine returned to South Africa from London to start University, a friend she had met in London had a party, and that is where she and Danie first met.

On a sunny Sunday Danie arranged for the couple to visit Welmoed Wine farm for lunch. While they were enjoying the beauty around them and talking Danie slid a little box over to Charlaine’s side of the table and just looked at her…she stared at it for a while and then finally asked him what ‘that’ was?! Then he moved around to her side of the table and asked if she would marry him…

The ceremony was held at the Dutch Reformed Church in Stellenbosch. After vows were exchanged the couple exited the magnificent old white building and was showered with fresh rose petals while the Church Bells rang cheerfully to announce their marriage. The party flowed to Vrede en Lust Estate near Franschhoek for pre-dinner drinks. Delicious canapés accompanied the free-flowing bubbly and the day’s festivities began!

The couple experienced their most memorable time of the day when they were welcomed into the beautiful reception by their friends and family cheering them on. They could not have been happier! A fabulous dinner began immediately with individual caramelized onion, thyme and Camembert tartlets served with a wild rocket, parmesan, pine nut and watercress salad. The main course was displayed as a decadent buffet, which included seared Tuna, sired of oriental Salmon, thinly sliced Beef fillet, Spanish chicken, interesting salads and pastas. A trio of Desserts – Baked Cheese Cake, Chocolate Mousse and a Strawberry Shot Glass finished the meal perfectly.

“Aleit and his team were fabulous. They did not just make the planning a breeze but really delighted us with their professional but still personal assistance on the day. There was a whole team of professionals that made it easy to relax and enjoy every moment,” recalls the Groom.

The Bride commented “I had so much fun working with Aleit and the rest of the team! They were always cheerful and full of great original ideas. You know when they plan your wedding that it will be fabulous and professionally done. Thanks a lot you guys – we had an ever better experience than we could have possibly imagined.”
