When we arrived there our table was in a tree house it had rose petals leading all the way to the top i was so shocked as i did not know what was going on. He started speaking so nervously I could hardly understand what he was talking about , then the next thing I know he was on his knee pulling the most beautiful ring out of his pocket asking me to marry him. Bride: Suléne van der Merwe Wedding date: 12 May 2007 Wedding venue: The Oakhouse Lodge Proposal details: We went to Menlyn on the Saturday(22 April 2006) for our dose of shopping and movies. We also decided that we would go and try on some rings and see what we like. After a while we went to a jeweler called Browns and there we saw a ring that both of us liked very much, we went in and I tried on the ring... I fell in love with it. Riaan bought the ring and I was very emotional at that moment. I told him that he doesn't have to buy the ring now he can do it when he is ready. He then said: "Ek is reg, ek gaan nie weer 'n kans kry om dit te doen nie." He took the ring and I didn't see it for the rest of the day... That evening we went to Baobab for dinner and just before we left he got on his knee and asked me to be his wife. It was so adorable he sort of whispered it... I think he was I bit shy to do it in front of all the people there. |

In the bible he say that I have taken the rib of man to create a partner for him in life and Gillian has my rib. I made it official on the 09 of February 2006 where we decided to fullfill what God had given us to cherish. Gillian to me is like a body with a soul, a Heart with blood they need each other to live and I can't live with out her. May God bless us as we take this walk in life. |
