Groom: Kieraan [Krisztian]
Bride: Shanaaz Wedding date: 5 January 2008 Wedding venue: Mount Nelson Hotel Cape Town Proposal details: Love at first sight…I wish everyone to experience the same that has happened to us. Our story is rather extraordinary than ordinary. To meet almost accidentally then feel your blood freezing inside of you, you cannot move, your brain almost stops working. Suddenly it starts again, thumps and rumbles giving you orders like never before. Every part of your body tinkles, I think this feeling is well-known for most of you. You feel that there is nothing to do about it, but you really don't want to do anything because you enjoy it and let the incredible take you. As time goes by, you realise that you want more and more from it. More than a mere look, more than a touch more than sheer enjoyment. Soon nothing will be enough, you just want more and more...suddenly you realise ,which has been maturing inside you for a long time, you have found her or rather she has found you. You wake up with her face, her first look is yours in the morning, and you fall asleep with her last, good-night kiss. Something is being born inside of you, your biggest decision in life: you want to tie the knot with that person who fulfils your life and occupies your thoughts. I want that person, who has done this to me and responsible for everything, to be my wife. I want that person, who is worth waking up for every day, who is worth fighting for and living a whole life with, to be my wife. Thank you for being with me. Thank you for making my dreams come true. |

Groom: Kegan van der Berg
Bride: Chantelle van Wyk Wedding date: 5 January 2008 Wedding venue: Picardie Proposal details: How it happened Chanti's version: He took me to On the Rocks in Bloubergstrand, Cape Town. From the restaurant you can walk onto the beach and onto the rocks. He took me there and after a struggle for words... he finally just came out with it and said..."Will you marry me?" Took out the ring, I grabbed it, without even looking and grabbed him around the neck with a "Yes, ofcourse!" Kegs version: Well here is the real deal. I lost like 50 000 in a bad gambling game and I knew she was good for it, so I though, here is my chance. Now for the truth, as I said earlier on, she swept me off my feet and I just realised I wanna spend the rest of my life with her. So I took her to "On the Rocks", made her wondering the whole weekend, what is happening and proposed outside on the beach front on our 1year anversary. |

Groom: Eben Strydom
Bride: Riana Leendertz Wedding date: 9 February 2008 Wedding venue: Durbanville Proposal details: How it happened It was our 7 year anniversary and we had a really nice day planned, we would have gone horse riding but due to unforseen circumstances it did not happen. We took a drive down to Blaauwberg where it all started, strolled down the beach watching the sunset, taking pictures for tourist and the next moment Eben is on one knee, the part that made it the most unexpected is that I had no clue. He asked me to be his wife and with no doubt at all I said yes, with tears flowing, and obviously blaming the wind afterwords. It was the most unexpected and most perfect moment ever. |

Groom: Hein Groenewald
Bride: Elsie Grobler Wedding date: 15 December 2007 Wedding venue: Simondium Country Lodge Proposal details: Hein and I were invited to attend a "business meeting" at the Towers Restaurant at the Arabella Sheraton Hotel. I did find it a bit unusual, but seeing that his Directors have treated us in the past to dinner and after a nice explanation by Hein that his Directors would like to meet with the two of us because they want him to go and work at the sister-company in Johannesburg for eights months to set up a new IT system, I didn\\\'t find it strange anymore… At one stage I wonder if this is not "IT", but knowing Hein and his secrets, I wasn't too sure. For me it was a 50/50 chance. Most conveniently his Director called the evening before saying that they won't be able to attend anymore, but we are more than welcome to still go for dinner, "it's on the Company". I wondered again… Hein, most conveniently, forgot the camera in the car and had to return to fetch the camera… Why do you take a camera to a restaurant? On his return he handed the ring to the Restaurant Manager (Without me knowing). Drinks were served. While waiting on the starter, bread as well as a mini-sample of the starter of the day was served. While waiting on the main meal, a mini-sample of the dessert of the day was served. This was counting BIG-TIME in Hein's favour… After finishing the main meal, I had no suspicions anymore, the engagement was definitely not going to happen and it was most definitely meant to be a business dinner. I saw the reflection in the window of another "mini-sample" meal that was served and it was then that the Restaurant Manger placed a plate with a chocolate box with a chocolate lid filled wit chocolate-coated berries with the ring on top of the berries and the words "Will you marry me?" written in red chocolate on the plate. Hein then went on his knees and asked me to marry him. I don't know who cried more, Hein or me! I must say… This "business meeting" went quite well and the investment Hein and I have made in each other will definitely prosper! |
