Groom: Sonika
Bride: Ingrid Wedding date: 2 June 2012 Wedding venue: EnGedi Proposal details: 2 weeks before the 'will you' day, she'd been given me a puzzle piece everyday & i've been sticking it up on the wall…. The whole puzzle was printed on thick cardboard & looked like a treasure map, in the shape of a heart with bits of our fav song lyrics printed on it… SO BEAUTIFUL, SO AMAZING!!! We had our Valentine's Day on the 13th (a Sunday)…. And we had a pick-nick…. She blind-folded me till I got 2 the pick-nick, took off the blind-fold & i saw the most beautiful pick-nick spread!! With a flat square box (at this stage I was hoping she was gona ask me, but when I saw it was a flat box - I was so disappointed that it wasn't a ring box, but was still in awe of the beautiful spread…) We sat down & I opened the box - it was the last puzzle piece…. And it read: WILL YOU MARRY ME?? She then had the ring box in her hand, opened it & asked me AND I SAID YES & JUMPED ON HER!!!! LoL!!! It was just perfect!!! ♥ |

Groom: Barnie
Bride: Euline Wedding date: TBA Wedding venue: Still looking at venues Proposal details: I won a week at a Lodge in Botswana during August 2009, and could only get a booking in July 2010, I then decided to make the booking for the week in which my boyfriend celebrated his birthday. So we were off to Botswana on Friday 9 July, and I was looking forward to a week of relaxing! The Saturday afternoon, on the day of his birthday, he left our chalet twice, claiming he had to fetch something in the car, and help the manager of the lodge with something, when he came back, he suggested that we drive to a spot on the lodge, and I happily agreed, not suspecting anything. We drove to a dry river bed, surrounded by beautiful sand cliffs, after walking around for a bit and taking some photos, he walked back to the car, and took out a picnic basket. Now I suspected something was up, but he claimed the basket was to celebrate his birthday. We had some snacks, and he opened up the champagne, the cork landed in the sand of the riverbed. I got up to fetch the cork, so we would not forget it there. When I came back to our picnic spot, he went on one knee and told me he had to ask me something before I sat down, and then proceeded with the big question!! It was so romantic! |

Groom: Rosco
Bride: Lisa Wedding date: 3 July 2010 Wedding venue: Simondium Country Lodge Proposal details: Rosco took me out for an "end of semester" dinner at Pigalle's in Green Point. When the waiter came to take our first order, he insisted we order starters, mains and dessert but I told the waiter not to be ridiculous because I didn't know if I'd want dessert and shoo'd him away. Rosco ate his dinner very fast while I enjoyed every savouring bite of my ostrich steak while listening to the soothing background music. After mains, Rosco called the waiter over and insisted I have dessert - he just went ahead and ordered baked cheesecake for me cos "you like baked cheesecake!", he said. When our dessert arrived, mine was delivered on this huge silver platter covered with a huge silver dome. The waiter took the dome off and placed the platter on the table - infront of me was a piece of baked cheesecake and a silver treasure chest. Rosco opened the chest (*sparkle*), took the ring out, went on bended knee, told me that he loved me and then asked me to marry him! I proceeded with plenty of "Are you SERIOUS?!? …SERIOUSLY!?!? …oh my word! ..SERIOUS?!?!". Then I said YES! We kissed *smoooooch* and I enjoyed my cheesecake while looking at my ring! |
