One of the greatest compliments a client ever paid me was while looking through my portfolio: "Wow, you really do photograph real things and real people - it's not just a catchy phrase for you - it's real!"
Her comment tickled me pink. I love taking beautiful photographs and working with great light and incredible locations. But above and beyond that, I love taking photographs of real people doing real things. I do still take posed shots, and firmly believe that they have their place in wedding photography, but if I can get that shot of you hugging your dad or giving your husband or wife that special look during your first dance then I've not only made my day but yours as well!
