About Monique

I am a hopeless romantic on the one side, and an artist on the other.
I am a photographer and studio manager for our family business - The Photographer. My passions and hobbies include dancing, photography (Especially Wedding photography) and all other forms of art. I am currently studying Bcom business Management through Unisa.

About Kersey

Kersey is a born farm boy, and loves the nature, but after 2 and a half years in London a whole new, modern side appeared. His great passion is flying- he has a ppl (private pilot’s license) and spends almost all his free time at surrounding airports. In the UK he worked as an engineer on both Wembley and Arsenal stadiums. He currently works as a sub-contractor ,installing Kitchens and build in cupboards.

How We Met

In a bar! It’s better than it sounds though... My Dad moved to a small town Dendron, North West of Polokwane to open a restraunt and Bar called Chamarel. It was the big hang-out for all the locals. Kersey and his two best friend’s names kept popping up in my conversations with my dad, so the first weekend I went to visit, my dad introduced me to his new friends/customers. We were friends for 6 months before the love bug bit me, but he insists he liked me from the beginning and was just afraid of what my dad would say about him dating daddies little girl. So on the 2 September 1999 we were at the spring dance in Vivo (by die artappel fees) and I fell in love with him while I was watching him dance with another girl. He was such a good dancer and I always promised my mom I would marry a guy that can dance. Four months passed and nothing happened, even though we were sooooo... in love. 14 Jan 2000 I got my first kiss under the stars and the rest is history.

The Proposal

When we got engaged

3 January 2007

How it happened

We went for a Sunset stroll on the beach- "to photograph the sunset for a friends mother who we were staying with". (Or so I thought) .He was so sweet along the way, he gave me seashells, wild flowers and wrote “Love you" messages in the sand. While showing me Seagulls flying by- to distract me- he took out a shell tied with a ribbon, and went on one knee to ask the big question. Obviously I said: YES!!!. Inside was my dream tanzanite ring. If was full moon and as we walked further down the beach we found a picnic blanket, champagne and snacks. It was sooo... romantic!
